Study natural antioxidants and total phenolics in sample of Diktamos

In this thesis studied the concentration of total phenolic compounds to the method of Folin-Ciocalteu Index and the antioxidant activity by the methods ABTS (2,2 azinobis-3-ethylbenzothiaziline-6-sulfonate) and DPPH (2,2-diphenyl- 1-pic-rylhyrazyl), a sample Diktamos. The extract Diktamos studied considering the boiling time (1, 3, 5 minutes), the immersion in boiling water (1, 3, 5 min) and finally soaking and standing for 1 minute at room temperature water. An increase of total phenolics and antioxidant activity with increasing boiling time while the immersion, an increase of phenolics and antioxidant activity to three minutes, five minutes a slight reduction. Finally, the water immersion room temperature leads to values much lower than the boiling. They found a linear correlation between the assay method total phenolics and antioxidant activity assay methods, with the ABTS method of displaying larger correlation.
