The proposed system was designed to provide: professionals with easy workload and access educational and informational material; sufferers with personalised management tools and educational sources; and citizens with rich informational material. The IREMMA system architecture embeds the existing information networks and data sources on allergy by offering high data integration and multi-modal access to its users, through a multi-service tool and high-distributed architecture. Hence, IREMMA sets the ground for establishing a wide integrated network for environmental monitoring and diffusion of health information. User feedback was collected through extensive pilot trials with real users and the results were used to improve the IREMMA services and the designing and the content specification.Τεκμήριο A product semantics approach for investigating the role of customers in new service development(2010) Sigala, Marianna; Christou, Evangelos; Σιγάλα, Μαριάννα; Χρήστου, ΕυάγγελοςΤεκμήριο A qualitative analysis of consumer attitudes on adoption of online travel services(Institute for Tourism, Zagreb, 2006) Christou, Evangelos; Χρήστου, ΕυάγγελοςThe study reported in this paper explores consumers' experiences with technology-assisted service encounters by investigating the applicability of Mick and Fournier's paradoxes of techno-logy adoption to the online travel agents' services scenario. In-depth interviews were conducted to explore consumers' experiences when using travel agents' online services and the results were compared to those of Mick and Fournier. The findings are similar, suggesting that when consu-mers adopt online technology they can simultaneously develop positive and negative attitudes. The findings of this study also suggest that the nature of some of the paradoxes experienced by consumers may depend on the industry (travel industry in this study) and the technology (the Internet in this study) being investigated; consumers can develop multiple attitudes towards certain source elements, resulting in existence of contradictory views and attitudes. In terms of Mick and Fournier's paradoxes, the findings of this study indicate that when consumers use technology assisted service encounters for travel agents' services they are most likely to experi-ence control/chaos, freedom/enslavement, competence/incompetence, efficiency/ inefficiency, engaging/disengaging, assimilation/isolation paradoxes and least likely to experience the new/obsolete paradox.Τεκμήριο A Recursive IR Protocol for Multicarrier Communication(2015-07-14T14:04:49Z) Polydoros, Andreas; Pavlidou, Fotini-Niovi; Assimakopoulos, Costas; Levisianou, A.; Παυλίδου, Φωτεινή-Νιόβη; Λεβησιάνου, Α.; Πολύδωρος, Ανδρέας; Ασημακόπουλος, ΚώσταςΤεκμήριο A review of wine-tourism research from 1995-2010 : Analysis of 111 contributions(2010) Christou, Evangelos; Nella, Athina; Χρήστου, Ευάγγελος; Νέλλα, ΑθηνάΤεκμήριο A successful deployment of an ERP system : a case study of a small Greek company(2011-07-11) Sarmaniotis, Christos; Georgiadis, Christos; Assimakopoulos, Costas; Papaioannou, Eugenia; Ασημακόπουλος, Κώστας; Γεωργιάδης, Χρήστος; Σαρμανιώτης, Χρήστος; Παπαϊωάννου, ΕυγενίαThe purpose of this paper is to present the findings of a case analysis of a successful ERP implementation in the context of a Greek small enterprise. Past research has identified factors that are important to the successful implementation of ERP systems. However, the majority of the papers describe unsuccessful cases of ERP implementation systems examining and pinpointing the factors which led to failure. In Greece, there is a relative lack of empirical studies in examining the adoption of ERP by Greek firms, but most importantly there is a complete lack of studies of Greek small enterprises having applied an ERP system either with success or failureΤεκμήριο A total quality approach for excellence in tertiary tourism education : the TEEQ model(Graduate School of Economics & Business, University of Zagreb and Mikrorad d.o.o., Zagreb, 2002) Christou, Evangelos; Χρήστου, ΕυάγγελοςThis paper suggests that in tertiary tourism education in the 21st century, a strategy utilized by a large number of organizations for effective change and sustained competitive advantage is TQM. The paper aims to determine the advantages of TQM and how TQM can be applied effectively and efficiently in tertiary education institutions providing tourism management programs of study. A tertiary tourism management education excellence model (TEEQ) is being developed, based on fundamental concepts of service quality: 5S, marketing and education quality control, quality control circles, ISO9000 and total preventive maintenance. In addition, the paper acknowledges the diversity of customers that TQM must satisfy and highlights some of the problems encountered in implementing the model, based on secondary research and experience of the author. Finally, an implementation plan is being suggested for educational establishments to work towards TEEQ. However, further research is required for validating the model internationally and for establishing it as a unique approach for TQM in tertiary tourism education.Τεκμήριο Adoption of e-shopping for air travel services : an investigation of consumers’ perceptions(2003) Christou, Evangelos; Kassianidis, Panagiotis; Χρήστου, Ευάγγελος; Κασσιανίδης, ΠαναγιώτηςΤεκμήριο Adoption of Mobile Commerce in the Air Travel Sector : a Qualitative Survey of Attitudes(Department for geography, tourism and hotel management, 2010-03) Kassianidis, Panagiotis; Christou, Evangelos; Χρήστου, Ευάγγελος; Κασσιανίδης, ΠαναγιώτηςThe study presented in this paper examines the case of the customer adoption of an air travel innovation, namely delivering through mobile telephones electronic tickets as well as boarding passes and other related services for air travel, which may be viewed as an innovation in service delivery. The qualitative study reported here adopted Rogers’ model of perceived innovation attributes and was augmented by Bauer’s framework of perceived risk. Participants in focus groups were categorised according to their attitudes towards buying electronic tickets for air travel through mobile phones. The perceived innovation attributes were identified to be significant determinants of travellers’ adoption decisions and practices. In addition, two more dimensions (compatibility with a person’s values and previous experience with the product category) were found to influence travellers’ adoption decisions, stressing the high complexity of the adoption decisions for mobile phone-based air travel service innovations. The findings have practical value for organisations in the air travel sector as well as for Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) and traditional travel agents.Τεκμήριο Adoption of on-line shopping for holiday packages : a qualitative investigation(2003) Sigala, Marianna; Christou, EvangelosΤεκμήριο Advertising mass tourism destinations : Mediterranean brand confusion(ScholarWorks, 2009) Christou, Evangelos; Χρήστου, ΕυάγγελοςBrand confusion takes place when a person views an advertisement for a particular brand as a communication about a different brand. This empirical study was conducted in a sample of 134 men and women, and based on 24 mass tourism destination advertisements of 8 different Mediterranean countries. Advertisements that were perceived as likeable and distinctive, and that were not information-overloaded suffered less from brand confusion. Destination brands with weak advertising support were found to be more vulnerable to brand confusion. Consumers with higher levels of product category involvement and higher levels of brand awareness and brand loyalty appear to confuse mass tourism destination brands less frequently.Τεκμήριο Airline flyer loyalty likelihood in relation to airline’s image and reputation : a study of three European airlines(2002) Sigala, Marianna; Christou, Evangelos; Χρήστου, Ευάγγελος; Σιγάλα, ΜαριάνναΤεκμήριο Alternative tourism destinations management(2013) Christou, Evangelos; Kilipiris, Fotis; Dermetzopoulos, Athanasios; Χρήστου, Ευάγγελος; Κιλιπίρης, Φώτης; Δερμετζόπουλος, ΑθανάσιοςΤεκμήριο An enhanced powerline channel noise model(Wseas, 2006-01) Pavlidou, Fotini-Niovi; Assimakopoulos, Costas; Παυλίδου, Φωτεινή-Νιόβη; Ασημακόπουλος, ΚώσταςOFDM has been proved to be a robust technique when it is used in hostile telecommunications media due to its capability to overcome intersymbol interference (ISI). Such a hostile environment is the powerlines when used for communication purposes in the frequency range 1MHz-30MHz. Nevertheless, it is important to understand the noise characteristics in the frequency domain, since OFDM is the parallel transmission of data using orthogonal carriers.Τεκμήριο An eServices system to support information exchange among the agricultural community(2005) Sideridis, Alexandros; Costopoulou, C.; Patrikakis, Christos; Manouselis, Nikolaos; Stalidis, George; Σιδερίδης, Αλέξανδρος; Πατρικάκης, Χρήστος; Μανουσέλις, Νικόλαος; Σταλίδης, Γιώργος; Κοστοπούλου, Σ.In this paper, we present the architecture and main components of an eServices System that aims to support the actors of the Organic Agriculture (OA) sector.
