A study on quality of experience qoe for multimedia systems

Abstract

Quality of Service (QoS) was until recently the only tool in the hands of communication system researchers. But as we enter in a user-centric era where quality possesses a significant role, a new notion appeared, namely Quality of Experience (QoE). Conversely to Quality of Service, QoE is not concentrates in system-related characteristics, such as delay and jitter, but focuses in characteristics like behavior and perception. Quality of Experience is defined as "an extension of the traditional QoS in the sense that QoE provides information regarding the delivered services from an end-user point of view".
